FAA Form 8130-3 for Software

We have a customer requesting that we have an FAA Form 8130-3 completed for our product, but it is a software product. We believe it would not need an 8130-3. Is that correct?

ANSWER: I took a few minutes to review your website and it appears that your software is used in test equipment. If this software is not installed in an aircraft system, you certainly wouldn't need to issue an FAA Form 8130-3. Even if it was, you would only need a manufacturers certificate of conformity to the required standard.
